Obituary

George W. "Jody" Roberts, 81, of Foxport, went to his eternal home on Saturday morning April 18, 2015 at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home surrounded by his family.

Jody was born July 9, 1933 in Fleming County to the late John & Elizabeth Cassidy Roberts.

He was a God fearing man who was fully devoted to his family. He was a committed member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ where he formally served as a deacon.

Throughout his life, Jody worked as a driver for his personal trucking company "Roberts Trucking" and on his beloved farm. His passions included bluegrass music, his farm machinery and trucks, camping in his RV, and most of all - his expanding family.

If you knew Jody, you knew a gentle and kind man who loved to laugh and who possessed a servant's heart. He always had a grin on his face and treasured being around his loved ones.

He is survived by his adored wife of 63 years Sara Lou Fearin Roberts; children Kirby (Debbie) Roberts, Mike (Marcy) Roberts, Connie (Larry) Bryant and Marty (Cheryl) Roberts; grandchildren Travis (Kim) Roberts, Heather (John) Dowdy, Jodi (Winston) Grannis, Leah (Tom) Caskey, Chad (Sarah) Bryant, Rachel Roberts, Rebekah Bryant and Shaina Roberts; great grandchildren Abri, Reece, Kaine & Tatum Roberts, Ava & Titus Caskey, Presley & Cole Dowdy and two special little ones; and sister-in-law Jean Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Virginia Ackley & Margaret Meyer; brothers Douglas "Duck", Tom, Bill, & Kenny Roberts.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Tuesday April 21, 2015 at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ with Bro. Tom Mitchell, Bro. Layne Wagner and Bro. Travis Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 9 PM Monday at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home and 9 -11 AM Tuesday at church.

Travis Roberts, Chad Bryant, John Dowdy, Winston Grannis, Tom Caskey, Joe Wallingford, and Kaine Roberts will serve as pallbearers

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Hope (909 Kenton Station Dr. Maysville, KY 41056).
