Gerald Shrout, 69, of Ewing, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016, at his residence.

Born January 23, 1947, in Nicholas County, he was a son of the late Herbert A. and Gladys Irvin Shrout.

Gerald was a heavy equipment operator and construction contractor. He was a longtime Mason and a member of the Favorite Lodge 581 in Ewing and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church. He loved fishing, camping and was a big fan of Nascar.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Arlene Mitchell Shrout; son, Bobby (Shelly) Shrout of Georgetown; daughter, Jonell (Chris) Espinoza of Flatwoods; granddaughter, Sabrina Shrout; and a sister, Virginia Sue (Bill) Gifford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scotty Fulton; and a sister, Helen Gray.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Pleasant Ridge Christian Church (9821 Elizaville Road, Ewing, KY) with Bro. Dean Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Monday at the church. Masonic rites will be at 7:00 p.m. by Favorite Lodge 581.
