Gilbert Lee Logan, 78, of Flemingsburg, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, at his residence.
Born in Lewis County on August 20, 1946, his father was the late Willie R. Logan and his mother was the late Stella Spencer Logan.
Gilbert was a retired farmer of 47 years and a retired owner and operator of the Wayside Market after 31 years of business alongside his wife. An avid car collector and enthusiast, he went to many car shows and Cruise-Ins. Gilbert was a firm believer in God and would be the first to tell you he would not have made it as far as he had without the help of the Lord.
Gilbert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Gulley Logan, to whom he married August 1, 1970; his two sons, Robbie Logan and wife Casey, Eric Logan and wife Allison; his four grandchildren, Leslie Logan (Matt Johnson), Brayden Logan, Levi Logan, and Cole Logan; his four step grandchildren, Xavier Mason, Gunner Mason, Richard Mason, and Katie Newsom; and his great grandchild, Cora Johnson. He is also survived by three of his siblings, Robert Logan and wife Jackie, Elise Gulley and husband Dewey, and Pauletta Kilgore; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to his mother Stella and his father Willie, Gilbert was preceded in death by seven of his siblings, William Garr Logan, Wallace Logan, Clyde Logan, Eddie Logan, Bennie Logan, Wilma Bretz, and Juanita Kielman.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, with Bro. Arnold Howell officiating.
Gilbert will be laid to rest in rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Eric Logan, Robbie Logan, Robert Logan, Wade Logan, Caleb Mallory, and J.R. Logan. Honorary pallbearers include Brayden Logan, Levi Logan, Cole Logan, Les Logan, and Dewey Gulley.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Boone-Nickell, located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
