Obituary

Gladys G. Howell Bradley, 97, passed away Monday morning April 21, 2014 at Fleming County Hospital after a brief illness.


Gladys was born June 3, 1916 in Holley, KY to the late Charles Edward and Rebecca Evans Howell.


Gladys had worked at Crown Overhaul Garment Factory and helped with the family farm for many years. She was a volunteer at Fleming County Hospital and taught sewing to many children in the area through the 4-H program. She was a member of the Wallingford United Methodist Church and a 30 year member of the Wallingford Homemakers.


She is survived by her son William O. Bradley Jr and his fiancé Judy Highfield; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brother Ray Howell; sister Geraldine Porter; several nieces and nephews; special neighbor and longtime friend Mary Ann Hopper.


Gladys was preceded in death by her husband William O. "W.O." Bradley, son Charles Bradley and her parents.


Funeral services will be at 1 PM Thursday April 24, 2014 at Wallingford United Methodist Church will Rev. Bob Ray and Brother Frank Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in Wallingford Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Wednesday at Boone – Nickell Funeral Home and after Noon Thursday at Church.


Jimmy Bradley, Charles Bradley, Steve Bradley, Bryan Bradley, Jacob Bradley, Matthew Bradley, Jeffrey Bradley and Adam Bradley will serve as pallbearers.


Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Wagner, Mark Wagner, Dale Sargent, Greg Grimes, Penny Brophy, Cody Maggard, Rachel Braunig, Clayton & Stephen Bradley, Blake & Bryce Bradley, Christy Kours and George, Annie and Katie Kours.
