Gobel "Jack" Darlington, 78, of the Mt. Carmel Community passed way Monday January 27, 2014 unexpectedly at his home.

Jack was born December 4, 1935 in Lewis County to the late Elzie and Annie (Bill) Rice.

Jack was a lifelong farmer and a veteran of the US Army.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and his parents.

Jack is survived by his wife
Thelma Darlington whom he married on June 16, 1962; sons Donnie (Sherry), Carl Ray (Tammy), Gary (Alyssa), David (Becky), Dougie (Lilly) Darlington; daughter Jackie (Terry) Underwood; 11 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; brother Ken (Loretta) Darlington; several nieces, nephews and friends

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Thursday at the Mt. Carmel Methodist Church with Bro. Homer Nolen officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 PM Wednesday and 7 - 10 AM Thursday at the Boone - Nickell Funeral Home and 11-1 PM Thursday at the church. . Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.
