Harold Lee Stanfield, 92, of Flemingsburg, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center on Leestown Road in Lexington.
Born in Fleming County on September 6, 1933, Harold was the son of the late Jessie Lee Stanfield and the late Opal Rebecca McClain Stanfield.
Harold had proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving in the Army 3rd Division and was on his way to becoming a sergeant when he was discharged. He had worked as a foreman for Hobart Manufacturing until it closed and had worked as a truck driver for Rumpke for nine years. He was a farmer and woodworker who enjoyed refinishing furniture in his spare time. He was a member of the Fleming County Sportsman Club. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed travelling round the United States.
Harold is survived by his wife, Mary Louella Harris Stanfield; his three daughters, Glenda Guiler, Theresa Goebel, and Becky (Erick) Fryman; his seven grandchildren, Hagan Fryman, Gavin Fryman, Matthew Guiler, Kelle Conlon, Adam Wills, Emilee and Zoe; and his three great grandchildren, Isabelle Vice, Tyler Conlon, and Molly Conlon; a very special family friend, Larry Doyle; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six siblings, Addie Pearl, Willetta, Lavona, Dolly, Marvin, and Peggy.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Boling officiating.
Harold will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 will be performing military rites.
Pallbearers include Hagan Fryman, Gavin Fryman, Matt Guiler, Mike Butler, Larry Doyle, Nick Cannon, and Kent Stanfield.
Visitation for Harold will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
