Helen Byron Clark, 90, of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Crystal Care of Coal Grove in Ironton, OH.
Born on May 16, 1927, in Augusta, KY, she was the daughter of the late John and Nola Carpenter Byron.
Helen started her career at "Fried's On the Corner". After its closing, she worked at the Men's Shop, The Pine Needle, Pauline's Sportswear and then with Licking Valley Community Action Program where she finished her working career as an ombudsman. She remained active as a volunteer with the Senior Citizen Center in Flemingsburg until incapacitated with Alzheimer's. She was a Kentucky Colonel and an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Helen is survived by and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Frances Lippert Gelter, Virginia Thomas, Lucille Davis, John "Jack" Byron, and Jimmy C. Byron.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 19, 2018, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church by Rev. Eric Boelscher. Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Bobby McGinnis, Marty Voiers, Colby McCloud, Roger Staggs, Raymond Pollitt, and Danny Ray Coleman.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Thursday, with Vigil Prayers for the Deceased at 9:45 a.m., at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (211 Mount Carmel Avenue, Flemingsburg, Kentucky 41041).
