Nancie Hope Mers, 76, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, with family by her side. She was the widow of the Kenneth C. "Kenny" Mers.
Born in Maysville on February 11, 1949, Hope was the daughter of the late Stanley D. Martin and the late Dorothy Nash Martin.
A 1967 graduate of Mason County High School, Hope worked at the Farmers Deposit Bank in Flemingsburg later known as Community Trust Bank. She held many roles over her 28 years at the bank and always met everyone with a smile and was kind to everyone she met.
Hope enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and specialized in desserts and candies around the holidays. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and flower beds and canning her vegetables. She also enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her children and grand children, sun bathing by the pool or swinging on the porch, singing at church and with the Golden Chords or sewing and making clothes to making repairs, reading, traveling, cross stitching and had many other talents and hobbies. She enjoyed singing at church and was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ.
She is survived by her two children, Angie Mineer and husband Mark, Matt Mers and wife Miranda; her three grandchildren, Austin (Hayley) Mineer, Skylar (Wesley) Weaver, and Matti (Connor) Dales; and her two great grandchildren, River and Saige. She is also survived by her two sisters, Penny (Dale) Hickman and Sandra (Michael) Curtis; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to Kenny, her husband of 56 years who passed in 2023; her mother Dorothy; her father Stanley; Hope was preceded in death by her brother, Stanley H. Martin and her sister-in-law, Nellie Martin.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Willie Martin officiating.
Hope will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Austin Mineer, Mark Mineer, Dustin Groom, Matt Mers, Shawn Fearin, and Jeff Martin. Honorary pallbearers include Michael Curtis and Dale Hickman.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, January 5th, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
