Jack Wayne Lowe, 77, of Dover passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY.
He was born September 16, 1935 in Fleming County to the late Virgil Abraham Lowe and Virgina Spark Lowe Schwartz. Jack Wayne Lowe was a man devoted to God and country. He was a Christian that shared his love with his family and friends. He spent many years as a guest speaker for different churches. He had overcome a long time illness. He spent his final years with his wife, Merlyn.
He worked several years as a salesman at Brownings and was a coordinator for Liberty University.
Jack was in the class of 1958 at West Point. He was a veteran of the US Army serving 11 years as with highest rank as a Captain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Phyllis Reese, and stepfather - Paul Schwartz. Survivors include his Wife: Merlyn Lowe; Children - Jacqueline (Steve) Berk of San Diego California, William Edward (Ann) Lowe of Virginia, and Bradly Wayne (Katy) Lowe (United States Marine Corp) of California, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 stepsons, 5 step grandchildren, and 4 step great grandchildren, and sister - Bonnie Tosso.
Funeral services will be at 1 PM Monday, April 22, 2013 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Norman Wasson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 - 1 PM Monday at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.
