Jackie Wayne Harmon, 82, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Mount Sterling.
Born in Hillsboro on October 6, 1939, he was the son of the late Hansel Harmon and the late Willie Mae "Willa" Williams Harmon.
Jackie was a farmer and worked for Hanson Aggregate for 42 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He loved fishing, UK basketball, and loved to talk. He attended Tilton Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda Planck Harmon; his four children, Jackie (James Ray) Hickerson, Nancy (Kent) Stanfield, Steve (Kathy) Harmon, and Amy Jenkins; his nine grandchildren, Jackie (Lonnie) Foley, Jamie Sue (Justin) Carver, Shannon (Matt) White, Dylan Stanfield, Steven Harmon, Shana Harmon, Brooklyn Jenkins, Braydon Jenkins, and Bryson Jenkins; and his six great grandchildren, Stevie Foley, Lawson Foley, Elizabeth Thorn, Brody Carver, Bentley Carver, and Ava White. He is also survived by his brother, Earl (Joan) Harmon; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to his parents Hansel and Willie Mae, he was preceded in death by three of his brothers, Eugene Harmon, James Harmon, and Billy Harmon.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. James Ray Hickerson officiating.
Jackie will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.
W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 will be performing military rites.
Pallbearers include Steven Harmon, Dylan Stanfield, Jeff Harmon, Jimmy Bradley, Lonnie Foley, Matt White, Justin Carver, Braydon Jenkins, and Bryson Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers include his granddaughters.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Boone-Nickell.
