Jackie Lee Thomas, 84, of Foxport, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, at UK Medical Center.
Born in Fleming County on June 10, 1941, Jackie was the son of the late Forest Lee Thomas and the late Velma Neomi Black Thomas.
Jackie was employed at Randall's Textron for seven years and retired from Brownings/Emerson after 37 years of dedicated service. His passion was spending time with nature. As an avid outdoorsman, he will be remembered for his fishing and hunting trips with family and friends. He was a taxidermist for 54 years where he loved meeting and talking to many others with the same passion. One of his greatest joys was fishing and hunting with his grandkids and great grandkids. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ where he served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon.
Jackie is survived by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis Porter Thomas; his three children, Diana (Anthony) Prater, Jimmy (Kim) Thomas, and Lori Pollitt; his five grandchildren, Katlyn Thomas, Molly Keaton, Taylor Pollitt, Cory (Selina) Prater, and Kelsey (Andrew) Cummins; nine great grandchildren, Emilee Keaton, Liam Keaton, Donovan Cummins, Mac Cummins, Kylee Prater, Addison Prater, Coby Prater, Raelynn Pollitt, and Piper Pollitt. He is also survived by his sister, Joan (Ken) Mineer-Chamblin; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his mother Velma and his father Forest, Jackie was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Bill Thomas.
The funeral will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, November 28, 2025, at Martin Cemetery with Bro. Darren Fizer and Bro. Gerald Saunders officiating.
Pallbearers include Jimmy Thomas, Anthony Prater, Cory Prater, Taylor Pollitt, Andrew Cummins, and Isaac Singer.
