James D.
Dugan, Sr.
August 27, 1927 – August 26, 2019
James D. Dugan, Sr., 91, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019, at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore. He was recently widowed by his wife of 68 years, Delores Doyle Dugan.
Born in Mason County on August 27, 1927, he was the son of the late Calvin Dugan and Sadie Long Dugan.
James retired from Browning Manufacturing in 1985 after 24 years of service. He went on to run Maysville Produce. He was a member of Faith Assembly of God Maysville. He proudly served his country in the United State Army during the Korean War and was also stationed in Germany.
James is survived by his granddaughters, Christel Dawn (Paul) Siglock and Jaime Jo (David) Maiden; his daughter-in-law, Patricia (Jody) Hodge; his great grandchildren, Madison Caitlyn Sowers, Jaymes Marion Sowers, Lukas David Maiden, Jonas Allen Maiden, Tristan Matthew Siglock, and Koby Daniel Siglock; his brothers, Charles Dugan, Estill "Bussie" Dugan, Delbert Dugan; and his sisters, Margaret Leet and Mary Alice Grayson.
In addition to his parents, and his wife Delores, James was preceded in death by his two sons, James D. Dugan, Jr., and Toni Dale Dugan. He was also preceded by his brother, Ernest Dugan; and his sisters, Lowell Jane Rigg and Cecil Caskey.
Service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, August 31, at Faith Assembly of God Maysville with Bro. Jesse Hickerson officiating.
James will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, at the church located at 296 Martin Luther King Hwy, Maysville, Kentucky 41056.
In place of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, 100 Veterans Drive, Wilmore, Kentucky 40390.
