James Wesley Dotson, 74, of Wallingford, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at his residence.

Born October 21, 1941, in Fleming County, he was a son of the late Jessie Elmer and Christine Virginia Wells Dotson.

He worked as a telephone lineman for Bell Telephone Company and OTS of New York and was a member of Greater Rain Community Church.

He is survived by his wife, Tanya Janice Bogan Dotson; sons, James Wesley Doston, Jr., James Wesley "Jimmy" Dotson III, and Jesse Edward Dotson; daughters, Virginia Rose Bray and Barbara Jean Montgomery; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Earl Dotson and Bill Dotson; sisters, Grace Curtis and Alice Clark; and many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Louise Roberts.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at Greater Rain Community Church with Pastor Jacob White officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday until the hour of the service at the church.
