James D. "JD" Faris, 76, passed away Wednesday September 5, 2012 at Rockcastle Regional Medical Center. After an extended illness . He was born February 21, 1936, in Plummers Landing, KY to Dunbar and Minnie Dunaway Faris. He was a retired logger and farmer. He was preceded in death by his father, and 2 nephews Rocky and Bobby Faris.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Frieda Fields Faris

Son: Mitchell Day Faris

Grandson: Justin Wayne Hurst

Mother: Minnie Faris

2 Brothers: Johnny Faris & Robert Faris

Sister: Caroline Maddox

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Saturday September 8, 2012 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. James Porter and Rev. Bill Compton officiating. Burial will follow in Goddard Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 - 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be; Leslie Arnold, Andy Logan, Larry Newsom, Dennis Muse, Bill Compton & Shane Faris.
