Obituary

James Estell Flora, 92, of Flemingsburg passed away Thursday January 16, 2014 at Fleming County Hospital after a extend illness.

Estell was born March 19, 1921 in Bath County to the late George W. and Mary Lynam Flora.

Estell was a lifelong tobacco and cattle farmer in Fleming County. He was very active in this community serving as a school board member for 6 years was a member of the Fleming Masonic Lodge #112 and many other organization. He served on He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII.

Estell was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Weaver Flora, daughter Gwendolyn Bussell, his parents, sister Ruby Jolly; brothers Paul, Clyde, & Morgan Flora.

Survivors include his children Faye (Noah) Logan and Duke (Patty) Flora all of Fleming County; grandchildren Angela (Kevin) Thacker, Tony Flora, Jeff (Stephanie) Flora, Braides (Daniel) Peck, Jimmy Flora, Patrick (Melanie) Bussell, Brendan (Angie) Bussell, Ethan Bussell, Chris Carpenter ; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; siblings Fred (Eula) Flora, Lela Mae (Jewell) Call, Geneva Owens and Thomas Flora; special caregiver Tammy Short; several nieces nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Monday, January 20, 2014 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Clint Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Fleming County Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 - 2 PM Monday at the funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Habit Humanity, Cancer Club, or the Methodist Children's Home.
