James Douglas "Doug" Hamm, 87, of Flemingsburg, KY passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at his home.

Doug was born May 26, 1927 in Fleming County, KY to the late James F. and Ida Mae Doyle Hamm.

Doug was a licensed funeral director for over 50 years working for Boone Funeral Home and then later Boone - Nickell Funeral Home. After retiring from the funeral home Doug went to work for the Fleming County Board of Education at the board office and also a bus driver. He was an avid Yankees baseball fan, UK basketball fan and knife collector. Doug was a longtime member of the Flemingsburg Christian Church.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his many friends that he considered family.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Tuesday February 3, 2015 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Norman Wasson officiating. Burial will follow in Fleming County Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Donnie Carpenter, Richard Welsh, Blake Cropper, Cory Cropper, Ronnie Fern, Ron Thomas, Tommy McDonald and Jesse Evans will serve as pallbearers.
