James L. Haney, 76, of Moorfield Rd, Carlisle, died Wednesday morning October 3, 2012 at home after a long illness. He was born in Nicholas County on January 9, 1936 to the late Denny and Francis Haney. He graduate of Sharpsburg High School in Bath County. Mr. Haney was a retired engineer from the KY Department of Transportation in Flemingsburg. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, was a fox hunter and avid KY Wildcats fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Donald Haney.

Daughters: Cynthia K. (John) Snedegar of Owingsville, KY

Step-Daughter: Michele (Brian) Bowman of Richmond, KY

Grandchildren: Paige Bowman, Dustin Garrison, Seth & Ross Haney

Brother: Ronald (Charlotte) Haney of Paris, KY

Sister: Martha (Larry) Cameron of Clearwater, FL

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Saturday October 6, 2012 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Evan Cummins officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 - 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Bussell, Cecil Duncan, Mark Duncan, Steve Duncan, Greg Haney & Nate Allison.
