James R. Harmon, 80, departed this life on April 9, 2017, at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe surrounded by his family.

James was born on December 22, 1936, in Fleming County, the son of the late Hansel and Willie Mae (Williams) Harmon. James was a hard worker and a devoted family man.

James retired from Browning's in Maysville, KY after 37 years. After retiring he enjoyed working in his garden, bowling, and going to Legends baseball games. He was also an avid UK Basketball fan. James was full of life. He always had a big smile on his face and never met a stranger.

James was preceded in death by his parents and a beloved daughter, Lisa Ann Harmon.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Barker Harmon; two daughters, Robyn (Greg) Bumgardner and Jamie (Randy Miller) Harmon; four brothers, Eugene (Ruth Ann) Harmon, Brother Billy (Linda) Harmon, Jackie (Brenda) Harmon and Earl (Joan) Harmon; three grandchildren, Beth (John) Murphy, Sarah (Stevie Fearin) Hinton, Sam (Alison Ruark) Money; two great grandchildren, Lexi Ann Cord and Colin James Murphy; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and two very special cats, Kika and Merry Christmas.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2017, at Boone- Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Harmon and Rev. George Sloan officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-8 at the funeral home.
