Obituary

James Edward Presley, 74, of Wallingford, passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at University of Kentucky Medical Center.

He was born February 11, 1941 in Fleming County, to the late William and Ada Little Presley.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army and served in Vietnam for 11 months. He was a truck driver for 20 years and worked for McClure Furniture for 10 years. He was a lifetime member of the DAV and a member of the Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elmer Lee & Woodrow Presley; and a sister, Jeanetta Carrington.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Laura Duncan Presley; sons, Jeff Presley of Manchester, and Jimmy Presley of Louisville; grandchildren, Nicole, Page and Bruce Presley; brothers, Joe (Ruby) Presley, John (Elaine) Presley, and Harold Presley; sisters, Bertha Hawkins and Linda (Gary) Curtis; and a large blended family.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2016, at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant United Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.
