James Lewis "Jimmy" Ramey, 60, of Tilton, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 22, 2016, at his home.

Jimmy was born November 1, 1955, in Fleming County, to the late Alvin & Dorothy Jean Harmon Ramey.

Jimmy was a retired truck driver and the former owner/operator of R&R Express. Jimmy had farmed most of his life and was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He attended Tilton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his sons, Chase & Colton Ramey and their mother, Robyn Ramey; siblings, Deloris Ramey Flora, Bill (Donna) Ramey, David (Kathy) Ramey; nieces and nephews, Lisa Jackson, Ricky Ramey, Debbie (Randy) Williams, Jodey (Erin) Ramey, Kyler Smith and Hayden (Sarah) Smith and their parents Daphanie & Craig Smith; great nieces and nephews, Brandon Williams, Savanna (Tyler) Frederick, Elli & Addi Ramey and their mother, Jodi Ramey, Annaleah Frederick; mother-in-law Aleta Smith.

Jimmy also had a faithful companion his dog Diesel.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nettie Mae Ramey Flora; and a nephew, Larry Wayne Flora.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Gail Skaggs and Elgin Emmons officiating. Burial will follow in Fleming County Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 9 Monday at the funeral home.

Garey Harmon, Chucky Ramey, Shane Ramey, Ted Allen Ramey, Mark Ramey, Craig Smith, Danny Littleton, Jodey Ramey, Jeremy Sparks and Billy Joe Denton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Harmon, Rick Ramey, Hayden Smith, Kyler Smith, Rick Dailey, Bradley Vice and Brandon Williams.
