James "Meathead" Spencer, 60, of Flemingsburg passed away Thursday December 12, 2013 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville,

James was born March 31, 1953 in Lewis County to the late William Henry Spencer and Gracie Belle Spencer.

James was retired from Carmeuse Lime after 20 years of service. He was an avid NASCAR fan and a Kyle Busch supporter. He loved to fish and enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son Travis Spencer

Survivors include his son Derrick (Miranda) Spencer of; grandson Jacob Allen Spencer; mother Gracie Spencer sisters Debbie Cooper and Diane (Mike) Evans; brothers Roger (Diane) Spencer, Ronnie (Charlene) Spencer, William Henry (Bonnie) Spencer Jr., Thomas (Kathy) Spencer and Billy Ray (Doris) Spencer; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday December 16, 2013 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Redmon officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 7 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
