Obituary

James Thomas Turner, 80, departed this life Thursday morning, Nov. 12, 2015, at Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville.

James was born Jan. 21, 1935, in Poplar Grove, Fleming County, to the late John and Jenny (Gardner) Turner.

James was retired from Emerson Electric Manufacturing after 40 years and was also a farmer. He was a member of Oakwoods Church of Christ.

James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma Mays Turner; his son, John (Mary) Turner; his daughter, Jenny McKibben (Marvin); grandchildren, Kyle James McKibben (Amber), Jason Aaron Turner (Stephanie), Christie Lynn Turner; great grandchildren, Judson Robert Turner, Lexie Waynelle McKibben, Brantley James McKibben; sisters, Elnora Kearns, Helen Sanders; and brother-in-law, Bobby Hickerson.

James was preceded in death by his sisters, Catherine Hickerson and Beulah Meadows; and brother-in-laws, Bill Kearns, Earl Sanders and Howard Wendell Meadows.

Services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Wylie officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 14, 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be John Turner, Mary Turner, Jason Turner, Christie Turner, Marvin McKibben, and Kyle McKibben.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in James' honor to: Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, KY 41056.
