Obituary

Jane Campbell Gooding, 97, of Flemingsburg, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home, surrounded by her family.  She was the widow of Harold Mac Gooding, Sr.


Born in Fleming County on July 24, 1927, Jane was the daughter of the late G.M. Campbell and the late Grace Staggs Campbell.


A 1946 graduate of Fleming County High School, Jane worked for the Rural Electric Association (REA). She was a bookkeeper for Davenport Farm Supply. She was co-owner, vice president, and bookkeeper for Gooding Auto Parts.   Jane was a big fan of UK, as well Fleming County sports.  She was a member of the Flemingsburg Christian Church, and belonged to the Disciples Women's Ministries (DWM).  She was a member and volunteer of the Fleming County Hospital Auxiliary.  She loved being around her family, was a wonderful cook, and loved a good joke.


Jane is survived by her four children, Larry (Joy) Gooding, Linda Carol Gooding, Harold Mac Gooding, Jr., and Jim (Dina) Gooding; her seven grandchildren, Stephanie Carol (Brian) Pepper, Sam (Kate) Gooding, Chaplain Captain David (Emily) Gooding, Sarah (Cory) Bransford,  Cheryl Ann (Tony) Argo, Kayla (Josh) Neace, Bryce (Christen) Gooding;  her 20 great grandchildren, Jackson, Paul, & Eli Pepper; Joshua & Evelyn Gooding; Wesley, Caleb, Eliana, Naomi, & Abigail Gooding; Lexi, Caiden, & Sam Bransford; Shawn (Sierra) Gooding; Tyler Gooding; Jayden, Abree, & Emma Argo; Maddie & Lily Jane Neace.  She is also survived by her sister, Marjorie Grannis, along with many extended family members and friends.


In addition to Harold, her husband of 32 years who passed in 1979, her mother Grace, and her father G.M., Jane was preceded in death by her grandson, Harold Mac "Trip" Gooding III, and her brother, Bobby Campbell.


The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Flemingsburg Christian Church, with Chaplain Captain David Gooding, Sam Gooding, and Cory Bransford officiating.


Jane will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.


Pallbearers include Shawn Gooding, Willie Campbell, Wayne Grannis, Sam Gooding, Bryce Gooding, and Josh Neace.


Visitation will be from 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Saturday, at the church located at 201 East Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
