IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janie
Roark
December 21, 1956 – March 8, 2024
Ethel Jane "Janie" Roark, 67, of Flemingsburg, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at her residence. She was the widow of Nicky Dean Roark, Sr.
Born in Maysville on December 21, 1956, her father was the late Estill Marshall and her mother was the late Thelma Jewell James Marshall.
Janie above all loved her Lord Jesus Christ, but after that love, she loved her children and grandchildren with all she had. Janie gave all she had to support her family and show them love beyond words. A member of the Light of Grace Church, Janie loved to play the piano for her church family and was very active in her church and set an example to all of a Christian life to be led.
Having retired from Comprehend Inc, Janie loved to travel especially to Pigeon Forge where she always said, "the mountains are calling". In the last years of her life, Janie suffered a stroke which slowed her down but never stopped her love for her family and constant helping of her many friends to show the same love Jesus commanded us to show everyone. Her grandchildren were very important to her and she enjoyed watching them play sports.
Janie is survived by two of her children, Nicky Dean Roark and wife Tracie and Brittany Anderson and husband Patrick; five of her grandchildren, Payton Roark, Carter Roark, Asher Anderson, Jared Anderson, and Chase Stafford; and her great grandchild, Isaac Anderson.
In addition to her husband Nicky and her parents, Janie was preceded in death by her daughter, Deana Roark; her grandson, Zachary Anderson; her brother, Franklin Dale Marshall; her cousin, Joetta Marshall; and her aunt, Mabel Johnson.
A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Hamm officiating.
Visitation with the family will be 5 p.m., until the hour of the service at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
In place of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Janie to the Light of Grace Church (C/O Debbie James Emmons, 6709 Morehead Road, Flemingsburg, KY 41041 )
