Javier "Odie" Ascencion, 35, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, KY.

Odie was born in the town of Coyopol, in the municipality of Teziutlan, in the state of Puebla, in Mexico on January 20, 1984.  H e was the son of Victoriano Ascencion Mendez and Carmen Peña De Ascencion.

Odie is survived by his parents;  his brothers, Jose Miguel Ascencion Peña, Juan Victoriano Ascencion  Peña, Anselmo Ascencion Peña;  his sisters, Maribel Ascencion Peña,  Analise Ascencion Peña, Maria de los angeles Ascencion Peña; his girlfriend, Susan Shrout; his godsons, Brandon and Jordan Whalen; and a goddaughter, Celia Sanchez..

Odie was preceded in death by his brother Roman Ascencion Peña.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2019,  with Fr. Eric Boelscher officiating at Fleming County Cemetery located 330 East Water Street, Flemingsburg, KY 41041
