Virginia Lee Todd "Jenny" Belt, 92, of Flemingsburg, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at Fleming County Hospital. She was the widow of Leo Belt, Jr.
Born on December 5, 1931, her father was the late David Lee Todd and her mother was the late Minnie May Todd.
Jenny retired from Peoples Bank after 40 plus years of service. She was a member of the Fleming County Cemetery Board, the Fleming County Garden Club, Quilting Club and the Fleming County Hospital Board. She was a member of the Flemingsburg Christian Church.
She is survived by her sister, Lillian Ann Shaw of Cleveland, Ohio; her three nephews, David (Cindy) Thomas of Oregon, J.B. (Ann Marie) Shaw of Florida, and David (Tamara) Shaw of Ohio; her niece, Suzanne Shaw (Robert) Metelko of Ohio; and her cousin, Lynn (Beverly) Todd of Indiana. Jenny is also survived by and held special affection for John (Eva) Colgan, Teresa Mitchell, and Donita (Dennis) Forte.
In addition to Leo, her husband of 56 years who passed in 2006, and her mother Minnie and father David, Jenny was preceded in death by her sister, Jaquelin Thomas; and her longtime companion, Gene Jett.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the Flemingsburg Christian Church with Pastor Randy Fritz officiating.
Jenny will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.
Pallbearers include John Colgan, Dennis Forte, Lynn Todd, Johnny Jett, Aaron Forte, and Jeff Donovan. Honorary pallbearers include Ryan Mitchell, Shane Mitchell, David Shaw, David Thomas, J.B. Shaw II, and Robert Metelko. Special Ladies include Agnes Wagoner, Glenda Potts, Betty Reid, Marsha Hunt, Janice Maher and Pat Stacy.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., at the church located at 201 East Water Street, Flemingsburg, Kentucky 41041.
In place of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Jenny to the Fleming County Cemetery (C/O Kathy Voiers, 208 Greenway Drive, Flemingsburg KY 41041) and/or the Flemingsburg Christian Church.
