Obituary

Jerry Hendrix, 71, of Flemingsburg, passed away Tuesday morning, February 28, 2017, at the Hospice Care Center at Kenton Pointe in the company of his best friend, Donnie Christman.


Born in Fayette County on July 18, 1945, he was the son of the late James and Jeannette James Hendrix.


Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army, manager of Bakers Department store in Flemingsburg, and retired from Sears as Service Technician in Lexington. He was a member of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Flemingsburg. He enjoyed spending time with family in Florida and fishing with good friends in northern Alabama.


He is survived by his wife, Ann Schwartz Hendrix; his son, Brian Hendrix and wife, Amanda and their children, Addison, Avery and Piper; his daughter, Julie Hendrix; and his son, Nicholas Hendrix and wife, Laura and their children, Grace, Brayden and Molly Kate; and his sister, Jane Hendrix.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Hendrix.


Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church by Father Josiah Booth and Father Verne Hogan. Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.


Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Friday with Vigil Prayers at 4:45 p.m. at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home.
