IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jim
Faul
September 19, 1939 – January 18, 2025
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, James Thomas "Jim" Faul, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 85 years of age.
Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Phyllis Ann Todd Faul; his parents, Douglas and Virginia Littleton Faul; and his three siblings, Douglas Jr., Dorothy Lee, and Daisy Fitzpatrick.
Jim is survived by his two adoring children, son Jimmy Todd (wife Jill), daughter Susan (husband Michael Ernst); his four grandchildren, Jimmy Faul Jr., Michael Faul Sr. (wife Elizabeth), Morgan Ann Ernst, Christian Todd Ernst; his great-grandson, Michael "M.J." Faul Jr.; as well as his special friend, Liz Carney.
Jim graduated from Maysville High School in 1958 and joined the General Electric workforce, having a successful career with GE and retiring after 40 years. He was a strong, faithful, Christian man who always smiled, laughed, and provided a caring, helping hand whenever possible. He always put God, his family, and others first, and was faithful to his Church. He enjoyed listening to gospel, country, and the great-oldies 50's music. Jim was a part of the "Tom Browning Boy's Club" in Maysville and won several competitions including The National American Boys Club Basketball Championship, where he was the second highest scorer. Jim could shoot from anywhere on the court and make the basket. He was an avid golfer, coached basketball and baseball for many years at the Fern Creek Optimist Club. Jim loved all sports but was especially fond of the UK Wildcats and the Cincinnati Reds. He was very competitive, and he loved playing cards (Rook and Uno) every Thursday night with his dear family. Jim stayed active his whole life and enjoyed walking and seeing his friends every day at the mall throughout his retirement.
Jim's bright, positive light was noticeable as soon as you entered a room with him. He and his late wife Phyllis enjoyed taking trips out west and annual family trips to Florida and Las Vegas. They had a rich and fulfilling life together and lived life to the fullest. They took great joy in spending time with their children and grandchildren, watching each of them play and excel in sports and cheerleading and watching them grow up.
A celebration of Jim's life will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Flemingsburg Christian Church.
Jim will be laid to rest in the Fleming County Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Friday, at the church, located 201 East Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
In place of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation in Jim's memory to your local church and/or favorite charity.
Boone-Nickell Funeral Home is caring for Jim and his family.
