Jo Ann Evans Grannis, 81, passed away on December 18, 2016. She was born on June 13, 1935 to Frankie Nell Hurst and Uhlan Plummer Evans in Flemingsburg, KY. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, James Allen Grannis, three brothers, Donald Dean Evans, Wendell Clay Evans, and Kenneth Evans, one son-in-law Gary Ray Ishmael, and one grandson, Michael Sean Ishmael.
She is survived by her children, Steven Allen (Ann) Grannis, Linda Carol Grannis Ishmael, and Julie Rene Grannis (Tom) Carroll; six grandchildren, Dustin James (Allison) Grannis, Cole Jacob Grannis (Stacey Jefferson), Joseph Allen (Sheena) Ishmael, Kimberly Rae Ishmael (Adam Baker), Nathaniel Robert Ray, and Ian Bruce Ray; one great grandson, Maddox Elijah Baker; two step grandchildren, Brandi Allison Carroll and Macy Jo Carroll; three sisters, Norma Jean Evans Wagoner, Nila Ray Evans Simons, and Mary Dan Evans (Jay) Day; six sister-in-law's, Nancye Reese Evans, Evelyn Fern Evans, Joyce Emmons Evans, Marjorie Campbell Grannis, Betty Lou Grannis (Nelson) Donaldson and Loretta Seithers Grannis; and many nieces and nephews.
Jo Ann worked at the Fleming County Hospital, Pioneer Trace Nursing Home, and People's Bank of Fleming County. She enjoyed her home, the farm and her family and was an avid UK fan. She was a lifelong member of the Flemingsburg Disciples of Christ Christian Church.

Private graveside services will be held with Rev. Norman Wasson officiating. Boone-Nickell Funeral Home is caring for all arrangements for Mrs. Grannis
