Arnold Bennett "Joe" Borders, 87, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at the VA Hospital in Lexington.

Born in Salyersville, Ky. on February 23, 1935, his parents were the late Dewey Borders and the late Dora Pennix Borders.

Joe was a self employed carpenter and farmer.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Stella E. Smalley Borders; his two children, Pamela Richards and Terry Joe Borders both of Dayton, Ohio; his two grandsons, Joshua Richards and Chad Richards of Dayton; his step granddaughter, Amber Bloom of Wilmington, Ohio; three great grandchildren; four step great, great grandchildren; and one brother.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by several siblings.

Graveside service will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2023, at Wallingford Cemetery.

W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 will be performing military rites.
