John Q. Emmons, 87, of Flemingsburg passed away Friday evening November 25, 2011 at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home. He was born February 12, 1924 in Fleming County to the late Leslie & Bessie Fleming Emmons He was a retired farmer and had owned and operated Emmons Brothers Ashland Service Station. He was veteran of WW II serving in the US Army as a Staff Sergeant, and was a member of the Fleming 112 Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Emmons in 2004, his parents and a brother Noel Emmons

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday November 29, 2011 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fleming County Cemetery with military rites preformed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834. Visitation will be Monday from 5 - 9 PM at the funeral home with Masonic Rites at 7 PM. In Lieu of flowers donations may be given to Fleming County FFA (C/O Tonya Phillips 1658 Elizaville Rd. Flemingsburg, KY 41041) or Fleming 112 Masonic Lodge Educational Scholarship Fund (C/O Danny Lee 416 Mt. Carmel Ave Flemingsburg, KY 41041).
