Obituary

John Edward "Eddie" Steward, 58, of Ewing, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe.

Born on June 6, 1958, in Mason County, he was the son of the late Edward Steward and Eula Jones Steward.

Eddie proudly served his country as a United States Marine.

Eddie is survived by his son, Dewey Washington; two grandchildren; his siblings, Rita Steward, Jeanette Jones, Jennifer Steward, Troy (Krista) Steward, and Stacy Steward. He is also survived by his aunts, Joyce Grandison and Peggy Grandison; great aunt, Elizabeth Tibbs; special niece, Anna Walker; his mother-in-law, Anna Lee Doyle; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Doyle Steward; an infant child; and his brothers, Jeffrey and Rodney Steward.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, September 16, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Fleming County Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the funeral home.
