Jonathan Lane "Jon" Helterbrand, age 62, of Muses Mills, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025.

Born January 25, 1963, in Morehead, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Clyde Bruce Helterbrand and Barbara James Compton Helterbrand.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Timothy "Tim" Helterbrand, David Helterbrand and Michael Harold "Mike" Helterbrand: brother-in-law David Marinat.

Jon was a retired self-employed electrician and had worked many years with Bill Newsom. He was a huge supporter of any veteran association, he loved to garden, fish and take care of the wildlife around him. He was a lifelong member of the Muses Mills Christian Church.

John is survived by his three brothers, Mark (Dixie) Helterbrand, Nicholas (Teresa) Helterbrand, all of Muses Mills and Joseph (Melissa) Helterbrand of Morehead; three sisters, Deborah Martinat of Morehead, Rebekah (Harold) Montgomery of Muses Mills and Rachel Lashbrooke of Morehead; four sisters-in-laws, Marsha Helterbrand of Muses Mills Carol Helterbrand of Morehead Karen Helterbrand of Morehead and Cathy Owens of Morehead; a host of nieces and nephews; other family; and many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Reeves officiating.  Burial will follow in Muses Mills Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Helterbrand, Mark Helterbrand, Joseph Helterbrand, Josh Helterbrand, David Marinat II, Bruce Martinat, Bill Perkins and Bill Castle. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Newsom, Hunter Young, Harold Montgomery, Harrison Helterbrand Jeffery David Helterbrand and James Helterbrand.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.
