Kathleen B. White, 92, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Fleming County Hospital.
Born in Maysville on February 27, 1932, her father was the late Julian S. Burns and her mother was the late Virginia Westfall Burns.
Kathleen retired from the Carnation Company in Maysville after 34 years of service as a secretary and payroll clerk. She was a graduate of Orangeburg High School where she was a cheerleader and a very hard worker. She was known for her baked bread that she sold at the Orangeburg Lion's Club auction as well as the Orangeburg Methodist Church. She loved gardening and canning and loved to read. Her grandkids and her family were very important to her. She was a member of the Orangeburg Methodist Church and was part of the Orangeburg Community Choir from 1997 to 2020.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James W. White, Jr.; her two daughters, Debbie (Joe) Bane and Melinda (David) McGlone; her four grandchildren, Christie (Jerry) Kissick, Pamela (Jordan) Hutchison, Whitney (Rick) Wilson, and Cody (Kaitlyn) Shannon; and her seven great grandchildren, Morgan Kissick, Kiersten Hutchison, Max Hutchison, Reese Wilson, Major Wilson, Emmett Shannon, and Creed Shannon; and a special family friend, Lori Gulley.
In addition to her mother Virginia and her father Julian, Kathleen was preceded in death by her three siblings, Stanley Westfall, Dorothy Byers, and Julian Burns, Jr.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor David Green officiating..
Kathleen will be laid to rest in May's Lick Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Jerry Kissick, Rick Wilson, Jordan Hutchison, Cody Shannon, Greg Thompson, Randy Gulley, Roger Hedger, and Doug Gulley. Honorary pallbearers include Joe Bane, David McGlone, Randy Eubanks, Butch Caudill, Wayne Howe, Tom Lewis, Eric Johnson, Dale Craycraft, and Rocky Schildknecht.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
In place of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Kathleen to the Orangeburg Methodist Church (C/O Penny Carpenter, 7119 Orangeburg Road, Maysville KY 41056).
