Obituary

Kimberly Johnson, 64, of Ewing, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.

Cherished wife of Delbert Johnson for 38 years and beloved mother to her eight children, she was the epicenter of life in the Johnson family. In her home and her life, she led with kindness, love, faith, perseverance and wisdom. She was the keeper of hearts and the keeper of calendars, she was tough love and tight hugs. She was quick to encourage big dreams or offer a bit of sage advice and had a mother's penchant for knowing which one was needed in every situation. The ache of her loss highlights the love and beauty she brought into the world and her impact on every soul she encountered.

Kim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1961 to Clair Damon Boggs and Betty Jo Jordan Boggs, as the third of four children. After graduation from Batavia High School, Kim proceeded to attend the University of Cincinnati and Wilmington College studying architecture and design. After graduation she joined the workforce and alongside her husband, started their own trucking company. This was the first of several business ventures together that impacted the lives of many in their community. While she was proud of each of these endeavors, County Concrete in Flemingsburg, Kentucky remained the crown jewel of her time as a business owner.

Outside of work, she was a dedicated member of Community Family Church in Independence, Kentucky. Always quick to volunteer, she dedicated her life to leading others, and specifically children, into the arms of Jesus Christ. She was happiest with her hands covered in dirt and was known for growing and preserving a prolific garden. Her deeply creative soul found a place to thrive in crafts, food and her farm.

Kim was a devoted mother to Billie Jo Wood (Jeremy, Virginia, Nikolas), Dallas Johnson (Sally, Brylee, Harlyn, Everley), Farmer Johnson (Samantha, Hunter, Adelaine, Calvin, Fisher, Forrester), John Johnson (Savannah), Sam Johnson (Daisy), Danielle Johnson, Gavin Johnson and JB Johnson. She was preceded in death by her mother Betty Boggs, her father C. Damon Boggs and her brother, John Boggs. She is survived by her husband, Delbert Johnson, her children and her sisters, Bobbi Bryant (Matthew) and Debbie Reardon (John).

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Bates officiating.

Kim will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Dallas Johnson, Farmer Johnson, John Johnson, Sam Johnson, Gavin Johnson, J. B. Johnson, and Jeremy Wood.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the Community Family Church located at 11875 Taylor Mill Road, Independence KY 41051.  Additional visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Friday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
