Larry Gene Boling, age 69, of Clarksville, TN, formerly of Fleming County, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at the V.A. Hospital in Nashville, TN.
Mr. Boling was born February 21, 1949, the son of the late Kendall Boling and Martha Lou Alexander Muse.
Larry was retired from the U.S. Army, having served 20 years. He was a member of Park Lane Church of the Nazarene; he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman, bird hunter, enjoyed flying planes, and loved UK Basketball.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Lynda Shepherd Boling; son, Lauren Clay (Amber) Boling; daughter, Leigh Anne (Walter) Rugen; sister, Kittye Redden; brothers, Garry Boling, Jackie Boling; grandchildren, Victoria Rugen, Jacob Rugen, Wesley Rugen, Emily Boling, and Trevor Boling.
Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m., Sunday October 28, 2018, at May's Lick Cemetery with Rev. James Watkins officiating. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.
Pallbearers include Walter Rugen, Jacob Rugen, Wesley Rugen, Trevor Boling, Matthew Doyle, Alfie Cheng, Brian Doyle and Jonathan Cain. Honorary pallbearers include Mr. Boling's Sunday School Class from Park Lane Church of the Nazarene, Lauren Boling, Garry Boling, and Jackie Boling.
Visitation will be Sunday from 12 – 2 p.m. at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.
A service will be held on Friday in Clarksville.
