Obituary

Lee Dallas McClain, 70, of Mt. Carmel, passed away Saturday morning February 25, 2017 at Fleming County Hospital. Dallas was born May 2, 1946 in Rowan County to the late Lee & Octia Ratliff McClain.

Dallas had retired from Pepsi after 40 years of service where he had been a route salesman and merchandiser. He was a member of the Mason County Amateur Radio Club and the Unity Baptist Church, after retirement he had helped with Licking Valley meals on wheels and as a van driver. He was a huge Confederate civil war buff, having visited several battle fields.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years Bonnie McClain; sons Michael McClain of Virginia Beach, VA, Jamie McClain of Tampa, FL and Ted (Ashley) McClain of Tollesboro; step daughter Lisa (Jim) McGlothin; grandchildren Lincoln McClain, Reeanna Robert and Wyatt Sparks: sisters Carolyn Atkins, Nettie (Jack) Hinton and Margie (Allen) Stone; sister-in-law Emma McClain; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother Ted McClain and step-daughter Rita Roberts

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday March 1, 2017 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Vise and Bro. Jackie Hinton officiating.


Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
