Lily Thomas Porter, 96, of Wallingford, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024, at her residence.  She was the widow of Selwood Lee Porter.

Born on Pea Ridge Mountain in Fleming County on August 15, 1928, her mother was the late Mayme Violet Jones Mattox and her father was the late John Lee Mattox.

Lily was a homemaker and farmer who worked at Wald's Manufacturing in the 1940's.  She attended Plummers Landing Christian Church, the Church of the Nazarene in Xenia, Ohio, and Ramey's Chapel.

Lily is survived by her two children, Jerry Brooks Porter and Sherry Jean Stacy; her three grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn Porter, Stephen Brent Porter, and Julie Renee Thompson; her five great grandchildren, Lincoln Earlywine, Gabriella Earlywine, Jonah Porter, Tyler Thompson, and Ava Thompson.

In addition to her husband Selwood (who passed in 1997) and her parents John and Mayme, Lily was preceded in death by her son, Larry Lee Porter; her two sisters, Hilda McKenzie and Geneva Henson; and her infant sibling.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2024, at Muse Family Cemetery with Bro. Jim DeAtley officiating.

Honorary pallbearers include Chris Muse and Rick Cerna.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
