Obituary

Lois Harmon Christopher, 80, Marion, died peacefully at 7:49 p.m., in Marion General Hospital on Sunday, January 11, 2015. She was born in Ewing, Kentucky to the late Marion A. and Mae (Barton) Cannon. She married Dale "Reggie" Harmon on August 14, 1954; he preceded her in death on April 25, 1974. Together they had a daughter, Joni Dale; she survives.

Lois loved attending Joni's piano recitals, and introducing her to musical theatre. Many will remember Lois for her being a receptionist for Dr. Long, as well as her many years at the Davis Clinic. She eventually retired from IMI, in 1999. Lois prided herself in her ladylike demeanor, never having a bad word to say about anyone. Everyone who knew Lois loved her.

In 1977, Lois married Ronald (Gene) Christopher; Lois and Gene's devotion for one another was admired by many. Her hobbies included square dancing, and owning a square dance shop. She also served on the board at First Baptist Church, on several boards for many years.

Lois is survived by her husband, R. Eugene Christopher, Marion, IN; daughter, Joni (Rick) Dale Fenwick, Walled Lake, MI; brother, William A. (Doris) Cannon, Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Ricky Fenwick, Walled Lake, MI; step-son-in-law, Elliot Tompkin, Madison, IN; step-granddaughter, Angela (Chuck) Anger, Slidell, Louisiana; niece, Stephanie (Tony) Cannon Smith; 2 step-great grandchildren; special and faithful friends, Annie Douglas and Ann Bellamy; and caregiver, Brenda Jackson.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Dale R. Harmon, and stepdaughter, Susan Tompkin.

A funeral service for Lois will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, IN with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.

Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m., on Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be at 11 AM Saturday January 17, 2015 at Fleming County Cemetery.
