Loretta Mae Spencer, 89, of Flemingsburg, entered into Heaven on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at her son’s home in Bardstown.

Born on Clover Hill in Fleming County on May 23, 1937, her father was the late Elbert Lee “Jeff” Spencer, and her mother was the late Hazel Wells Stacy Spencer.

Loretta had worked at US Shoe, had worked as a cook at Fleming County Hospital and was a culinary expert in Alaska. She loved flowers and gardening, along with conservative politics, cooking, and travel. She was a member of the Flemingsburg Christian Church.

She is survived by her three children, Ricky Lee Ring and wife Rebecca, Vicki Linn Gerken, and Bruce Wayne Ring, Jr., and wife Bonnie; her six grandchildren, Jeri M. Rodriguez, Brandon Wayne Ring, Danielle S. Wiles, Cory S. Ring, Jason Ring, and Josh Ring; and her eight great grandchildren, Brayden, Aubrey Ella, Gabriella, Grace, Aubrey Marie, Preston, Waylon, and Rett. She is also survived by her siblings, Donald L. (Darlene) Spencer and L. Thomas (Chris) Spencer; along with many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her mother Hazel and her father Jeff, Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Warder Boggess, and her son-in-law, Gene Gerken.

A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2026, at Elizaville Cemetery with Pastor Randy Fritz officiating.

Visitation will be 11 a.m., until 12:30 p.m., Monday, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
