Louise Snedegar McCord of Foxspring Avenue, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.
She was born to Coburn and Lucille Manley Snedegar on October 9, 1933 in Bath County.
She was in the first nurse's aide class of 1962 at Fleming County Hospital. She also was a caring lady and sat with the ill and a nanny for a well-known family here in the city. She worked at the nursing home and retired as a nurse's aide.
She lost the love of her life in 2004, Clifton Richard McCord. They eloped and married in 1949. The McCords celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 17, 1999. He retired from Bruner Lumber Company after 26 years in August 1999. Their door was always open and there to lend a helping hand. May both rest in peace in their Heavenly home. Four children were born into the union; William Dale McCord, Carla (Mitch) Shields, Cliftina (Eric) McGuffey of Carlisle, Tamme Louise (Clint) Stoops and by love, Sherry Kerns Dublin.
Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her million dollar daughters, Corey Shields (she reared), Eric Jonathan McGuffey, Uriah (Richard) Stoops, Karissa Kerns Wallingford and Braden Wallingford.
She was reared by her grandparents and great grandparents, the late James and Mary Boyd Manley and William and Lucy Boyd McCarty.
She is survived by her brothers, W.C. "Billy" Snedegar of Lexington, Thomas E. "Tom" (Barbara Leonard) Snedegar of Bethel, OH, and a sister, Maryrene Snedegar Hampton of Lexington. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Vise, Bro. James Hickerson and Bro. Greg Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Elizaville Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, KY 41056.
