Marilyn W. Tyree, 74, of Flemingsburg, died Fri. November 25, 2016, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

She was born in Elizaville, KY, on July 13, 1942. to the late Alvin and Lorena Florence Jones Whisman.

Marilyn was a loving wife; mother and grandmother who loved to surround herself with her precious family. She loved sew, paint, cook, and to travel when able and was always willing to try new things. She was a member of Battle Run Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wayne Tyree of Flemingsburg; four daughters, Tammy (Greg) Hughes of Ewing, Donna (Timmy) Mitchell of Sharpsburg, Karla Plummer of Ewing and Jennifer (Steve) Buchanan of Ewing; one son, Jeff (Alisa) Tyree of Ewing; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Mitchell of Lewisburg, Linda (Randall) Jackson of Carlisle and Barbara Marshall of Flemingsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Ernest Thomas (Tommy) Whisman and Cecil Whisman; granddaughter Patricia Tyree.

Services are 1 p.m., Wednesday at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Randall Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
