Marlin J. Mitchell, 69, of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023.

Born in Mason County on March 16, 1954, her parents were the late Joseph H. Jones and the late Anna Price Jones.

Marlin was a caregiver and had worked for Dr. Rudy Ann Thomas and Johnson Mathers Nursing Home.  She also worked for Saint Claire Hospital and Pioneer Trace Nursing Home.  Later in life she was a private duty caregiver.  She was a lifelong member of the Poplar Plains Christian Church and a 30 year listener of God's Country on WFLE radio.

Marlin is survived by her son, Randall Scott Mitchell of Paintsville; her two grandsons, Dylan Scott Mitchell of Carlisle and Logan Greer of Paintsville; her brother, Moose Jones of Louisville; and her fur baby, Snickers.

In addition to her parents, Marlin was preceded in death by her sister, Jo Anne Jones; her two brothers, Harlan G. Jones and Marion A. Jones; and her special nephew, Joe Ray Jones, Jr.

The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m., until the hour of service at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at Boone-Nickell.
