Martha Jane Wilson Selvage, 61, died January 29, 2012 after a very courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Maysville, KY on February 22, 1950, and was the daughter of the late James Wilson and Edith Wilson. In addition to her mother, Edith Wilson, of Flemingsburg, KY, she is survived by her three children: two daughters, Diana Marie Selvage and Melissa Selvage Miller and a son, Jared Russell Selvage (Jennifer Lynn Selvage, wife). She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Donald Lynn Selvage, of Carlisle, KY as well as four brothers: James 'Jimmy' Wilson Jr. (Mary Wilson); Ronald Wilson (Rebecca Wilson); Donald Wilson (Pamela Wilson) and William 'Bill' Wilson. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends that she loved dearly.
Martha was a 1968 graduate of Fleming County High School. She was an employee at Jockey International, Inc. for 26 years and then attended National College where she completed her Associates of Business Administration in 2002. She then became employed at the college, where she enjoyed the rest of her professional career and met a very dear friend, Kim Thomasson.
Martha loved children, the beach, flowers, Christmas, gardening, crafting, photography and was a very talented artist. Of all of her wonderful gifts and accomplishments, her finest gift was as a mother and wife. Her greatest happiness on this earth was in her family. She was a member of Battle Run Christian Church in Ewing, KY.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in Elizaville Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Sonny Wells, Gary McCord, Danny McCord, James "Jimmy" Wilson III, Dennis Dotson, & Gary Broderick.
Memorial donations may be made to the Markey Cancer Center Foundation.
