Marvin Lee Taylor, 66, of Germantown, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at home, after battling an extended illness.

Born in Maysville, on September 20, 1959, he was the son of the James Donald Taylor and the late Martha Jane Hamm Taylor.

Marvin was a member of Tollesboro Christian Church and valued being Christian and attending church regularly. He graduated from Mason County High School after growing up and working in tobacco on the family’s farm. Marvin was employed at Browning’s, traveled and worked construction and recently retired from maintenance at Black River. Marvin was a member of Maysville Moose Lodge #1124. Was a proud descendent of the Blackfoot Native Americans.

A avid NASCAR fan after having spent time competing in dirt track racing. He loved cars and over the years owned several classics, three Road Runners and a few Harley Davidsons. His ideal of fun was to get up and go at the drop of a hat. Though frugal, he enjoyed painstakingly negotiating the price of vehicles and motorcycles and sometimes no less than half a dozen car lots in one day. He loved to ride motorbikes and driving around on his ATV.

Marvin was passionate about University of Kentucky basketball and football and Cincinnati Bengals. In his early youth, Marvin went fishing and hunting. In later youth, his interest turned to scouting for girls and good times. All his funniest stories aren’t meant for public consumption. Though his name was inspired by actor, Lee Marvin, he was nicknamed "Marvin Wild" due to a bustling youthful social life. He rather enjoyed being a socialite all throughout his life, listening to classic rock including the Boneyard on Sirius and watching Ancient Aliens on the History Channel.

Marvin was a family man – devoted and protective. His daughter, Elizabeth was his pride and joy. Later in life, Marvin rekindled a friendship from his youth and proceeded to marry his teenage sweetheart, Brenda. He had an attachment to a Doberman Pincer named Paco and most recently had a soft spot for little Chihuahua named Sparky.

Irving Berlin said, “The song is ended, but the melody lingers on.” Marvin will be remembered for his infectious smile and laugh, teasing and joking around with a playful sense of humor, fierce family loyalty and boundless love. Marvin was well liked by those who knew him, Marvin will be greatly missed. He finished his final race and is now most likely part of  Heaven's welcome crew. Marvin Lee Taylor is now and for eternity rejoicing with Jesus.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 7 years, Brenda Fetters Taylor; daughter Elizabeth Jane Taylor; his father James; brother Mark Taylor and wife Lori; nieces Alyssa Hart and husband Brandon, Katie and Lauren Taylor; great-nephew Jayce Lee Hart; and an Aunt Jean Hamm Simmons; step-daughter Chrissy and husband Adam Finley; grandchildren Dylan T. Rigdon, Brandon Finley, Autumn Jade Finley; great granddaughter Camdyn T. Rigdon; along with many extended family and friends.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Bowler.

Marvin will be laid to rest in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation will be at 11:30 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.
