Mary Margaret "Sis" Rice 70, of Georgetown, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, in Lexington

Born in Mason County on June 29, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Eugene “Gene” Rice Sr. and Anna Pearl Rice. She was also preceded in death by one sister Norma Printers. 

Mary Margaret was a Registered Nurse at UK for 40 plus years where she worked as a Dialysis Nurse. She later retired in 2021. She was a member of Strawberry United Methodist Church where she was a long-time member. She later moved her membership to New Zion United Methodist Church. She was an avid UK sports fan, she loved to travel, listen to music, and spend time with family and friends. Mary Margaret always made sure to say “I love you more”

She is survived by her two stepsons, Jay and Myles Burdette, two siblings, Eugene Rice Jr. and Wanda (Eddie) Rice Clark, and 3 grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Flemingsburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Dane Clark

Mary Margaret will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Marcus Floyd, Chan Graham, Ashley Graham, Josh Graham, Jesse “Jarue” Mark III, Ray Prather, Shawn Prather, Justin Prather, Landen Prather and Jay Burdette,

Honorary Pallbearers include: Brandi Adams, LeeAnn Buxton, Joann Colgan, Peggy Gray, Debbie Watson, and Co workers @UK

Visitation will be at 10 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Flemingsburg United Methodist Church
