Maxine M. Fetters, 89, of Mansfield went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Arbors of Mifflin. She was born on November 22, 1927 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Caudill) Shields.

Maxine retired after 19 years of employment at Therm-O-Disk. She was a long time member of Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church. Maxine enjoyed being busy and especially enjoyed fishing, caring for her home, and working in her flower gardens. Some of her fondest memories were girls weekends with her sister shopping, bowling and baking for Christmas.

She is survived by her son, Bob (Reda) Johnson of Mansfield; her daughter, Nancy Case of Brooksville, KY; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Hunt; and brother, Raymond (Linda) Shields both of Mansfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Fetters; son, James Johnson; five siblings; Virginia McKee of Morehead, KY, Delmar Shields of Muses Mills, KY, Dewey Shields of Minerva, KY, Jessie Shields of Morehead, KY and Betty Thompson of Mansfield, OH; and two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Muses Mills Christian Church with Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Muses Mills Cemetery.

Friends and family may call from 5-8pm on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road.

Visitation will also be held from 10-11 a.m. at Muses Mills Christian Church on Wednesday, October 18, 2017
