It is with joyful hearts that we announce the passing of Naomi Seibert, who went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the age of 94.

Born in Fleming County on February 27, 1931, Naomi was the daughter of the late Rev. Elbert Hickerson and the late Myrtle Simons Hickerson. She lived a life rooted in love, strength, and devotion to her family and God.

She was married to Robert Souder and later to Robert Seibert, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her son-in-law, Danny Hawkins and her two brothers, Jesse Hickerson, Sr. and Paul Hickerson.

Naomi is survived by her two daughters, Loretta Hawkins and Charlotte (Gene) Benton; her three grandchildren, Daryl (Ashley) Hawkins, Jessica Story, and Stephen (Sophrina) Story; her five great grandchildren, Kade, Korbin, and Karsyn Hawkins, Gracie and Ty Story; and her stepson, Ken Seibert.

Naomi was a retired employee of US Shoe Factory of 30 years; she also worked with Green Thumb program for the elementary schools and owned and help operate her business, Souder’s Grocery in Hillsboro until the death of her first husband Robert Souder in 1984. Naomi loved to sing, play the piano, and play the guitar. She liked making beautiful quilts; but most of all she loved going to church and being with her family.

A celebration of Naomi’s life will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2026, at Boone Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Boling and Gene Benton officiating.

Naomi will be laid to rest in Wedonia Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Daryl Hawkins, Trevor Jones, Sean Johnson, Gene Benton, Wyatt Barker, and Chris Sorrell. Honorary pallbearers include Jessica Story and Daniel Benton.

Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Monday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
