Nella Gay Eldridge, 88, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Fleming County Hospital. She was the widow of Chester Eldridge.
Born in Panama, Ky. in Morgan County on July 21, 1935, her father was the late Lonnie Gevedon and her mother was the late Ida Gillispie Gevedon.
Nella was a homemaker who attended the Crain Creek Christian Church. She attended the local Fleming Senior Center and was especially thankful to the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home for her care.
She is survived by her son, Steve Eldridge; her three grandchildren, Ben (Carol) Eldridge, Jamie (Regina) Eldridge, and Corey (Aubrie) Eldridge; her two great-grandsons, Jaxon Eldridge and Timmy Eldridge; her five nieces, Kathy Loraine Hamrick, Lisa (Mike) Mayo, Linda (Tony) Hyland, Becky Hamrick, and Lacey Hamrick; and her two nephews, Doug Feltner and Jerry Gevedon; along with her extended family members and friends.
In addition to Chester, her husband of 45 years who passed in September 2001; her mother Ida, and her father Lonnie, Nella was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Lynn Eldridge; her three sisters, Lucille (Paul) Gevedon, Betty Gevedon Feltner, and Caralee Gevedon; her niece, Carolyn Vondette; and her nephew, Jeff Gevedon.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Darry Cooper officiating.
Nella will be laid to rest in Newman Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Jamie Eldridge, Corey Eldridge, Mike Mayo, Chris Mayo, Doug Feltner, and Timmy Eldridge. Honorary pallbearers include Jeff Gevedon and Ben Eldridge.
Visitation will be from noon, until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Monday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
In place of flowers, please consider a donation in Nella's memory to the Fleming Senior Center (c/o Licking Valley CAP, 203 High Street, Flemingsburg, KY 41041).
