Obituary

Oleta M. Stanfield, 91 of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home.

She was born December 27, 1922 in Plummer's Landing to the late John and Iva Newman Cooper.

Oleta was a woman of many talents helping her husband run their family farm for many years, and then moving to Ohio where she ran the canteen at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for 20 years. Oleta was always spreading the word of God with her husband in his ministries traveling many places to evangelize. Oleta loved spending time at the senior center in Flemingsburg socializing with her friends.

Oleta is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Thomas Stanfield; brothers, Ronald Cooper, Clifford Cooper, George Cooper, and Calvin Cooper, and sisters, Effie Hurst, Emma Smith, Ruth Muse, Naomi Harris, Sylvia Tackett, and Jennie Butcher.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Clifford Muse, Rev. George Sloan and Rev. Darry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Newman Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 - 1 PM Tuesday at Boone Nickell Funeral Home.
